I have the Gift of Tears.
I didn’t know it for the longest time. I’d tell people, usually with an embarrassed grin, “I’m such a crybaby; I burst into tears all the time, for no particular reason.”
I cry during confession for what I’ve done to offend my sweet Jesus. I cry during the homily if the priest’s words really hit home. I cry during the Gloria because God’s greatness is so… well, great. I cry during the Liturgy of the Eucharist because it’s so beautiful. I cry during Eucharistic Adoration when Jesus speaks to my heart. I sometimes cry while chanting the Liturgy of the Hours. I cry while listening to or singing Christian worship songs (I’ve never, not once, gotten through 10,000 Reasons or The Goodness of God or Good, Good Father or What a Beautiful Name It Is or So Will I (100 Billion X) with a dry eye).
