It looks like I’m going to have a forced vacation this week. As I suspected, the old MacBook is trash, and they say so is the hard drive. I bought a new MacBook Pro, but as a non-techie, I really need them to help me download all the data from the iCloud. They said it’ll take at least a day or two, so I’m home now twiddling my thumbs.
It feels weird, almost wrong, to be cut off from my computer, and I don’t like browsing the web on my phone—the screen is way too small for that to be comfortable.
God, is this you forcing me on a low-tech retreat? It would make sense; tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, and you probably think I could use a break from work and my social media binges to focus on the really important stuff.
