Today, my boss announces that in a couple of months, there’ll be a big shift in my duties at work. I’ve had numerous of those over the 20 years I’ve worked for them… some imposed, some of my own making.
I’m slightly shocked but otherwise calm. If there’s one good thing I learned from my 30+ years as a New Ager, it is “going with the flow,” as I used to call it.
Today, I say, “VatiGod, Thy Will be done.”
When we lived together in Sedona, my best friend and roommate Dunyasha and I made a pact: Whenever we’d get too attached to an inanimate object, we’d have to give it away. Over the years, I surrendered one-of-a-kind jewelry, CDs, paintings, books, and favorite dresses. It was hard to let go, but also liberating.
I owned things, but no thing got to own me.
