"We're Undermining God's Plan as He Has Revealed It to Us"

Powerful speech by British Rev. Calvin Robinson

My health still hasn’t totally recovered, so I’m keeping my blog posts short for now… and utilize other people’s wisdom (which in any case is usually so much greater than my own).

Today, I stumbled over this gem from the February 2023 General Synod at the Oxford Union Society. It’s a five-minute clip from an extremely powerful speech by Anglican Reverend Calvin Robinson. In it, he sums up why we cannot bless or condone “homosexual marriage.”

I don’t know about you, but every once in a while, I read or hear words that are written or spoken with such clarity and ring with so much truth that it feels like they were uttered by God Himself. I’ve had that experience with books like C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity and certain homilies or lectures by Archbishop Fulton Sheen, to name just two.

This is one of these speeches. I rewound it about five times to re-listen and remember. It’s that good.
