Today, I received comments from two folks on my February 2023 post, “Reiki Origins: The Murky Legend of Dr. Usui.”

This is a ridiculous attack on a highly beneficial practice that JESUS would be happy to witness happening in people’s life. SHAME on the person who would discredit such hard work, sacrifice, and dedication towards someone that GAVE HIS LIFE to heal others and help other people also be able bring healing to the world. Seek God, man, ‘cause this entire post is the devil’s work in itself.

What a load of rubbish. Jesus awakened his consciousness and knew about the healing powers and how energy works when you open yourself up to the Divine. So you’re saying Jesus, who was gifted and HUMAN, who demonstrated how powerful we can be by having a pure heart, that this is satanic, yet preach walk in Jesus’ footsteps. Jesus was trying to show people what their capabilities are! Have you even studied Reiki, have you seen the miracles that happen with it? If you’re not a Reiki practitioner, do not speak on sh** you know nothing about! Those who do Reiki do so with the upmost [sic] love and pure intentions in their hearts to heal, NOT FOR EGOIC GAIN. The only thing that is satanic is a highly inflated Ego. With great power comes great responsibility and is only gifted to those with the highest intentions for the greater good of humanity. This article is nothing short of embarrassing.
I appreciate your comments, guys, because this provides a wonderful object lesson on why Reiki is so dangerous. This post was long coming, but I procrastinated, and finally God gave me a reason to write it. So my sincere thanks for your feedback.
First off, let me tell you that I completely understand your outrage. In fact, not too long ago, as a Reiki master of 25 years, I might have written a letter very similar to yours.
Most Reiki practitioners I know are lovely, well-meaning people. They have the heart of a healer, but either they don’t have the means or the inclination to become a doctor or nurse (most of them deeply distrust mainstream medicine anyway), so they happily embrace Reiki as an alternative path in order to help others and make a difference in the world.
And it’s not like Reiki doesn’t work. It does, which is why people continue practicing it, having no clue how deep the pit of deception is they have fallen into.
I know you don’t believe that Satan exists, but he does (I met him)—and not as some abstract principle, like “the evil in humanity’s psyche,” but as a living, breathing entity whose only goal is to destroy you. Why? To stick it to God, your Creator, who loves you more than anything. God wants you to join Him in Heaven; Satan wants to drag you down to Hell.
Just consider this for a moment: If Satan did exist, and if he did want to entrap you, he wouldn’t appear as a hideous monster. He would appear as everything you’ve ever wanted.
Let’s take a look at the five reasons Reiki is truly demonic.
