Hello Shannara and welcome to Ohio! You have chosen a propitious time to relocate to Southeast OH! You probably are already aware of the "Nutcracker" displays in downtown Steubenville beginning soon. You would enjoy, I believe, the Victorian Dickens displays in nearby Cambridge and of course, the lighting display at Ogleby in Wheeling. I became acquainted with Steubenville while dating my wife, (thank you Catholic Match) who resided there for twenty six years before our mariage in 2010. She chose to relocate to my abode in Greater Cleveland - her former home of twenty eight years - where she still had family and friends. I would have done the relocating, had she wished, as I apreciated the friendly atmosphere of the city, her vibrant parish (Holy Family) the neat little brick bungalows in her West End neighborhood and the programs offered at the economic savior of the city - Franciscan U. Italian restaurants kept me "fulfilled" as well :)
I love your passion and that you are unashamed of your personal relationship with our Lord. Keep on writing. I write prose from scripture. Was new in October. Love the platform. Be blessed.
You don’t seem delusional to me. Nothing is trivial to God; especially not the clothing we wear, as it can either honor Him (in all modesty and proper care of our bodies) or fail to honor Him (in immodesty and with disregard for proper self-care). And... God has a great sense of humor, doesn’t He? 😃
Great idea for the Halloween candy! Maybe next year consider having it all (candy included) blessed by a local priest before handing it out? A Miraculous Medal would be a great addition, too.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Terri... and what a fantastic idea to have the candy blessed and add a Miraculous Medal!!! I SO wish I'd thought of that earlier, but will be sure to do this next year. Candy-vangelization is getting better and better! :D
And yes, absolutely, God/Jesus has an amazing sense of humor. When I started attending Eileen George Prayer Groups (I owe a big debt to Eileen who helped me get back this childlike faith and complete trust that I used to have long ago), we listened to a tape where she said, "Don't just pray your daily prayers and go to Mass. That's as if I only cook and clean for my husband but don't spend any quality time with him. Jesus wants you to spend one-on-one quality time with him every day. Talk to him, ask him questions."
So that's what I did. On my way home in the car, I said, "So Jesus, I'm supposed to ask you questions. I always had trouble with the Holy Trinity. When I talk to you, I feel I'm neglecting the Father and the Holy Spirit; when I talk to the Father, I feel like I'm neglecting you, and so forth. Can you clarify this for me?"
And Jesus spoke clearly in my mind: "Don't worry about it; we have a non-compete clause."
I laughed so hard. That was the time when I was binge-watching seasons of the lawyer show "Suits" on Netflix, so the lawyer lingo was spot on. :D

Thank you very much, Donald! God bless you, and happy Thanksgiving.
