I just found this gem of a question on Quora: “America is a Protestant country, not Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, or otherwise. Do we need President Trump (a Protestant) back to lead us, as opposed to Biden, who is Catholic?” Boy, oh boy, oh boy. There are so many false premises and misconceptions in this question, it’s hard to know where to start.
There is a lot of truth in this article. I would add that this deism from the founders has morphed into something new today, a combination of occultism and mysticism, a mix of yoga, “mindfulness” and anything else that is worldly and not centered around God and suffering but instead comfort and our own free will.
