Today’s chapter fits very well into my own experience this weekend. I helped out in the kitchen at a three-day men’s retreat from our parish… and caught myself constantly doubting that we’d have enough food to feed 65 full-grown men. I’d look at the pots of stew and chunks of meat and strips of bacon and batches of whipped eggs and go like, “This is NEVER gonna be enough!” And yet it was—which taught me a thing or two about having faith… and cooking for large numbers of people. :)
At the end, I also retell a beautiful miracle story where Jesus truly multiplies food (the “pudding cups” story Fr. Dan Rehill told in his recent interview with Michael Knowles; if you haven’t watched it, please do so; it’s phenomenal!). God bless you.
