Indeed, this reminds me of the famous line in the movie - The Usual Suspects: "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was to convince the world that he didn't exist." This is another way the devil tries to deceive us, yet he is present in these things paraded as good ideologies.
Yes, it's amazing, in hindsight coming out of the New Age, how deceptive this "spirituality" is. The enemy knows how to mix some truth with lies—i.e., that it's good to be charitable and love your neighbor mixed with the lie that "love" means tolerating or even welcoming sin that the Bible says God abhors.
You make some very good points. We should always be weary of pop religion on TV. It is almost always used to some end other than genuine faith in Christ as our Lord and Savior.
